Your Library and its resources are growing on a daily bases thanks to the feedback that we have received from you our patrons. In an effort to serve you better we have established basic guidelines to assure that these resources are available to every one that request them in our service area. Borrower’s cards are issued to Warren County residents and property owners; and reciprocal borrowers from Halifax, Franklin and Vance counties, and residents of Lake Gaston, Virginia. A patron card may be obtained by presenting proof of current address, Photo ID and the last four digits of the borrower’s Social Security number. A youth’s card (under 18) must be signed by a parent or guardian with a current and valid borrower’s card.

How do you get a Library Card?

Library cards are free of charge for reciprocal borrowers. Replacement cards are $3.00

How much does a Library Card cost?

Do you have to have a library card to check out circulation items?

Library card or ID must be shown when checking out materials or using the Library computers. Only persons from out of state can present ID to use the Library’s computers.

What is the loan period for checking out materials?

All materials circulate for 14 days

How can you renew a book?

You may renew in person or by calling the Library at 252-257-4990. Only 2 renewals are allowed. Patrons with overdue fines cannot renew materials and items placed on reserve cannot be renewed.

Are there any fines or penalties associated with late returns of books, video and DVDs and Cds?

Books and Magazines are $0.20 cents per day, CD’s Videos, DVDs and Interlibrary Loans are $1.00 per day. The maximum fine is $25.00 per item or the cost of the item.

What happens if I don't return

my books/materials?

A charge will be levied on all books/material which have not been received within 60 days of their assigned due date. Any patron still in possession of any books, CDs, DVDs or any materials will be charged $25.00 for each item in addition to a $7 processing fee for each item past their 60 day due date.

Please Note:The patron must come into the library if his/her books are 60 days past due. Books must not be returned via of the book drop if books are 60 days past due. If any patron fails to return the books/materials, legal actions will be taken.

Sending and receiving is $2.50 for the first page and $.50 cents for each additional page.

It' cost $.05 cents for black and white and $.10 cents for colored.
