Throughout our services pages you will find additional information and resources that will assist you in managing a more complex family life and a globally competitive work environment.
This is a great page to visit if you have no computer skills or if you are trying to acquire more information about an area of computers. Here we will cover software and hardware issues and answers and also suggest some of the best places to get a deal on computers. We will also explain terms and vocabulary used to talk about computers in plain English. As if that wasn’t
enough; we will also get just a little bit “teckie” and talk about how to solve some of the most troublesome computer problems.
Children’s Services is one of the library’s most important and active departments. On this Web site Mary Bullock, our Children’s Services and Outreach Coordinator, shares critical information about how to create a learning friendly environment for our children.
Ms. Bullock also updates us on all the activity in the Child Services Department and shares a host of important children’s learning web sites. The activities addressed on this page are designed to assist the parents and guardians in cultivating the joy of reading in their children. This page and the web sites that it recommends, will provide you with a wealth of information to show you how to make reading fun and enjoyable for your children.
“Let’s Talk Teens” is one of our new exciting pages. Here we will explore many of the issues that teens struggle with. Over time, this page will address such topics as drug use, teen pregnancy, bullying, how to prepare for college, and the best sources of financial aid. On this page we will also celebrate and salute the youth that have made outstanding accomplishments in their schools, their community.
This is a page that is designed to be honest, frank, informative, engaging and inspiring. We encourage both teens and their parents and guardians to pay frequent visits to this page. It will list of wealth of authoritative and informative web sites that give expert advise on many of the challenges that teens face. We we over time also make great use of streaming video and audio.
The 50 Plus Club is a new page that we have added to keep up with our patrons greater need to take control of their middle ages and advance years. Our 50 Plus Page is not just for 50 and older adults. It is for anyone who would like more information on building a second career, retraining for a new economy, healthcare, managing their
investments, preparing for retirement and having fun during your retirement years. We will list a cornucopia of web sites to help guide you through these subjects. This is a page that will evolve over time and will tailor itself to respond to your specific needs and requests. Looking for a great time kids? Well Kid’s Zone is where you will find it. This page will link you to games, fun quizzes, memory test, and colorful creative mind exercises to bring out the creative genius in you. All these fun things and more can be found in the Kid’s Zone. The Kid Zone is like a fun house, game room, amusement park, and learning lab all put together on one site. We give you access to the kid’s Zone site through our portal page. Parents, no need to worry about supervision when your child is in the Kid’s Zone. It’s safe, fun, informative and educational.
